Seeking to transform China, Sun endures civil wars, kidnapping in London, arrests in America, pursuing bounty hunters, political setbacks, financial ruin and marital failures. Yet he perseveres to inspire the revolution in China ultimately triggering the abdication of the Qing Dynasty’s dying Empress Dowager Cixi and frail Emperor Guangxu.

For a brief shining moment, Dr. Sun Yat-sen becomes President of the Republic of China with its American-inspired constitution. Sun resigns to maintain national peace and later accepts communist assistance before his untimely death. Today he is revered as the Father of the Nation where his vision of a strong, prosperous China has become a reality.
