A Memorial Concert for the 80th Anniversary of WWII Victory

Chinese American Veterans

A not-for-profit patriotic concert with true stories in memorizing those Chinese American and Chinese National Soldiers who served and sacrificed in WWII, particularly in the China-Pacific Theater against the Japanese invasion.

PROPOSAL HIGHLIGHT

I. Objective

Holding a not-for-profit patriotic concert with true stories in memorizing those Chinese American and Chinese National Soldiers who served and sacrificed in WWII, particularly in the China-Pacific Theater against the Japanese invasion.

III. Concert Highlight PART 1

  1. Opening Show Video of Stars to appear.
     
  2. Hosts Opening Remarks
    Hosts thank everyone for coming and intro every act that follows
     
  3. Present Color Guard from Military District of Washington (MDW) (or High School
    Cadet, TBD)
     
  4. National Anthem: Singer or Music from DJ
     
  5. Hosts return introducing a VIP (CA retired General) for a short speech.
    With talk about meaning of patriotism, WWII China Pacific Battle Theater.
     
  6. Chorus: The Battle Hymn of the Republic

  7. Video tribute about WWII Chinese American veterans
    (look for existing clips and edit into a 3~5 min long video show)
     
  8. Read letter from a WWII CA vet. (need pre-recording of a CA Vet if possible)
     
  9. Story 1 (Chinese American)
    Reenactment/Read of a Chinese American WWII soldier story (Selection TBD). By the
    end of Read, invite the surviving spouse, or descendants to the stage)
     
  10. Live Chinese translation of movies 《Pearl Harbor》and 《Save Private Ryan》clips.
    Perform by the Chinese famous voice actor Yuebin Sun

  11. Story 2 (Chinese National Army)
    Reenactment/Read of Shifen Fox’s father story, a battalion commander in HengYang Battle 6-22-1944 to 8-8-1944. By the end of Read, invite Shifen Fox, or descendants to the stage)
     
  12. Sings (Song TBD)
     
  13. Story 3 (Chinese American pilot or mechanic) Reenactment/Read of a Chinese American pilot or mechanic in WWII US Army Air Corps Flying Tiger or 14th Squadron (Selection TBD). By the end of Read, invite the surviving spouse, or descendants to the stage) 
  14. Band performance (music piece TBD)
     
  15. Story 4 (Chinese National Air Force Pilot-1)
    Reenactment/Read of a Chinese Air Force Pilot story, based on Jack Yan’s uncle. By the end of Read, invite Jack to the stage)
     
  16. Band performance (music piece TBD)
     
  17. Story 5 (Chinese National Air Force Pilot-2)
    Reenactment/Read of a Chinese Air Force Pilot story, based on Ann Lee’s uncle Chia-Ho
    Lee. By the end of Read, invite Ann to the stage)
     
  18. Band performance (music piece TBD)
     
  19. Story 6 (Chinese National Air Force Pilot Translator)
    Reenactment/Read of a Chinese Air Force Pilot Translator story, based on Emily’s father
    Ningkun Wu. By the end of Read, invite Emily to the stage.

  21. Tribute to the Armed Services
    Play US Armed Forces Medley. Call for stand for those who served and currently serving when their unit branch song is presented. Stand-Honor extended to include the WWII Chinese soldiers’ family members.
     
  22. Finale Chorus
    Chorus: 《One Day》(a song for peace)

Option 1: Sept 2, 2025 (+/- a week). Japanese Surrender Date


Option 2: Dec 7, 2025 (+/- a week). Pearl Harbor Date

Story script writing ($500 x 6 stories): $3000
VIP invitation (cover T&L): $3500
Performers (Voice Actor, Singers, Chorus, Band): $4000 Video/photography: $1000

Grand total: $8000 + $3000 + $3500 + $4000 + $1000 + $500 = $20,000
Aim to break even financially. If there is any left over, will be refunded back to the sponsors, and/or donated to veteran organizations.
